Endotoxins, also known as lipopolysaccharides (LPS), are found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria and are also exogenous pyrogens (fever-inducing substances).

There is a strong need for reducing and managing the amount of endotoxin in the ingredients for medical use, but commonly used removal methods or commercially available low endotoxin materials do not completely meet user needs from the point of view of cost and containing level of endotoxin.
